In addition to the dunes and the beautiful beaches of Schouwen Duiveland there are other activities and places of interest to enjoy in the surrounding of de Torenhoeve.
Below we give you some examples which might interest you.
Delta Park Neeltje Jans
The old work island “Neeltje Jans” was the basis for the realization of the Oosterscheldekering, a pillar dam with gates that guarantees safety and preserves the environment. In an adventurous way the Delta Park lets you discover everything that has to do with water, such as a children's water park, a seal show, a boot trip along the Oosterscheldekering to give you an impression at one of the pillars.
Zierikzee
Zierikzee is known for the many beautiful gates and bridges that surround the old fortified town. This is why Zierikzee is called a monument city. The city is the centre of Schouwen-Duiveland and therefore it offers many amenities, shops and restaurants. During the summer months the many tourists ensure a pleasant bustle on the terraces in the city centre and on the harbour.
Veere
As soon as the sun rises the many boats on the Veerse Meer form a lively atmosphere and a beautiful spectacle. The many mooring places and villages around the lake also come to life. The lake is named after the city Veere, a beautiful fortified town with many show places and a tourist centre. You can also take a boat trip on the lake or rent a boat yourself.
